The Key to Exponential Growth in Music

Touring is proven to bring significant growth to both emerging and established artists

The Key to Exponential Growth in Music

Parabolic growth isn't just for emerging artists; established artists/bands can achieve it too. For example, the band "Disturbed" has been releasing albums for almost 25 years. In January 2024, the ICM Crescendo Music Royalty Fund announced an acquisition that involved rights related to songs performed by the band. At that time Disturbed had 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Fast forward six months, and they've hit 21 million monthly listeners (90% growth). 🚀 How did they do it? Touring. Since January they've have hit the stage 26 times.

So, while a lot of artists and managers are focused on social media and playlists (which should be part of the strategy), the traditional method of getting in front of fans still seems to work. What would you say is most important for an artist to grow their listener base on a parabolic basis?
